Ellin has been training as a performer since the age of three. As a dancer she specialises in modern jazz, tap, musical theatre, and ballet but has also studied contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, national, ballroom, middle eastern, Bollywood, and commercial jazz. She has taken part in dance workshops and summer schools in New York, Melbourne, and Sydney. She received the 2005 dance award for Leeming Senior High School.​​​

As an actor, Ellin has worked in a variety of filmed and live performance mediums. This includes work in Perth, Melbourne, and Malaysia, and includes educational, community, semi-professional, and professional productions. Her work in live performance includes galas, floorshows, variety nights, community events, street theatre, Fringeworld, student theatre, musicals, as well as roleplay and simulation. In addition to this, she has worked in local film and television for over a decade.

She is the face of Kreepy Krauly’s Pool Professor adverts and has appeared in numerous ad campaigns and in local television, including as a featured extra in Season Two of ABC’s The Heights (2020). Stage highlights include Cruisin’ The Musical (2007), Second Chance Theatre’s Frankenstein (2016), Blak Yak Theatre’s One Night, One Day (2018), and Whisper White (2020) with The Strawboat Collective. Other performance highlights include working as a magician’s assistant, performing to Malaysian royalty, and working as an Interactor for Murdoch University’s award-winning Simlab program.

After completing a Bachelor of Arts specialising in the fields of English & Creative Writing and Theatre & Drama at Murdoch University, Ellin went on to be awarded both a First-Class Honours and a PhD for her work investigating the functions of musical theatre dance through the lens of audience reception.

She now works as an academic in the fields of english and creative arts, theatre & drama, communication studies, career learning, and education, and is open to positions lecturing or teaching in any of the above.

​

Ellin's research interests include acting for digital roleplay simulations, dance in music theatre, theatre in education, and Shakespeare studies. She has presented her research at numerous conferences and is a member of the Music Theatre Research Roundtable (MTRR). Ellin is a multidisciplinary artist who has worked in a wide variety of production roles and utilises her background in fitness and dance to underpin much of her approach to movement. She was the artistic manager of The Revellers Theatre Company from 2011-2013 and is the co-founder of local production company Thought Jar Productions.

She has spent years working with children and young people as a dance, drama, and music theatre teacher, including private coaching for competitions and auditions, group classes, and designing and running incursions and workshops. Working with young people is a huge passion for Ellin, and she loves passing her knowledge onto the next generation of performers.

​​

Other production roles she has undertaken have included: producer (theatre), director (theatre), workshop facilitator, writer, movement specialist, choreographer, dance captain, website and blog design and maintenance, graphic design, sound design and operation, publicity, and social media content creation and management including for @lantis a Science Fiction Radio Play Series for which she won a joint Nexus Theatre Gala Award with Maiken Kruger.
