FRINGEWORLD is back! What will you be seeing?

2020 was a bit of a strange year for live theatre and performance so we are VERY excited to get back into the swing of things for FRINGEWORLD here in Perth. Running from the 15th January to the 14th February there's a literal smorgasbord of shows to choose from - including a few that we have friends performing! Here's some of our recommendations for this Fringe season:

15th January - 6th February

This show is pretty much what it says on the tin - it's the Bard Bogan-ified and this year they're tackling the tragic tale of Macbeth! Starring the illustrious Dr. Sarah Courtis as Lady M herself, these guys have already had to extend their season due to selling out the first round of tickets so if you want to see it? Better get in quick.

27th January - 14th February

Rejoice nerds! These guys are back for their fifth year of Dungeons and Dragons themed shenanigans. Tickets are selling crazy fast for their five night campaign (some nights are already sold out!) but there's also a single night campaign on Valentine's Day which has the added bonus of being wheelchair accessible! Thought Jar founder Stephen B. Platt is in ALL of these shows but if you can't manage to catch tickets you can also see him guest starring in any of the following...

3rd February - 14th February

We all know that the Thought Jar team loves a bit of science fiction onstage (hello @lantis!) which is why we love Captain Spaceship. A core cast of hilarious characters and a roster of special guest stars (including Stephen!) will take you on an improvised romp through a variety of hilarious audience suggestions and SF tropes. They could end up anywhere, and anywhen depending on audience suggestions. Join them as they travel through time and space exploring the cosmos, discovering new uncharted worlds and narrowly avoid copyright infringement.

15th January - 22nd January

After fairly humble beginnings three years ago, TOD Talks is moving up in the world and is being presented this year at the State Theatre Centre! Stephen is the reigning champion of this show which is all about the art of the bullsh*t, and honestly the best thing about this show is watching the guest improvisers and comedians try and justify the absolutely wacky PowerPoint slides they're given AS they give their speech. Who will emerge triumphant and who will crash and burn? Either way, it's going to be a hilarious night out.

15th January - 24th January

Did somebody say one night only improvised musical? This is a new show that Stephen is guest starring in on the final night alongside a cavalcade of incredible local musicians and improv performers. If the cast is anything to go by, things can and probably will get chaotic - in the best possible way.

This bad boy runs all Fringe long and features some of Perth's best improvisers and comedians with a show that suits pretty much anyone with a funny bone to tickle. Got little tykes you want to take to Fringe? Check out The Little Hoo Haa. Got a particularly filthy minded friend who you need to buy a birthday present for? Check out The Dirty Hoo Haa. And if you just want some Improv comedy fun times you can't go wrong with The Big Hoo Haa - it's a classic!

So...what are you most excited to get to see at Fringe this year?
